Looking for support for my own relationships
If you feel scared, worried, or unsafe in your relationship (this can be friendships, extended family or romantic relationships) it’s important to talk to someone you trust and get support.
Red Flags in Relationships
Sometimes it’s hard to tell when a relationship is unhealthy. Abuse isn’t always physical, it can be emotional, controlling, or manipulative. Look out for:
- Feeling anxious or unsafe around your partner or friend
- Being told what you can or can’t do
- Feeling pressured to act a certain way
- Your feelings being dismissed or made to seem “wrong”
A healthy relationship should always feel safe, respectful, and secure. If you notice these red flags, it’s okay to reach out for support.
Online Safety Tips
Abuse can happen online too – even if you don’t live together. This can include:
- Harassing messages or DMs
- Tracking your social media or online activity
- Threats to share private photos or messages
- Fake or AI-generated images of you
These are all forms of abuse. Some teens may face extra pressure around privacy, family expectations, or reputation.
