Crisis
At Hemat Gryffe Women's Aid, we recognise that each woamn facing domestic abuse, forced marriage or honour-based abuse has a unique expereince. Experienced women support workers provide personlaised support based on each woman's individual needs, circumstances and safety requirements.
Outreach, community and crisis services ensure that women can receive support at every stage of their journey. This also allows us to continue supporting women who may not be able to access refuge accommodation for a variety of reasons.
Experienced staff provide culturally sensitive billingual support and stand alongside every victim-survivor on their pathway to safety.
Outreach support
Staff employed in the outreach service provide ongoing support for women who need assisstance over a period of time with a range of issues.
Women enrolled in the outreach service receive consistent and tailored help. This includes emotional support as well as practical assistance for women who are planning to leave or rebuild their lives after leaving an abusive partner.
Our support workers can:
- Help women plan safely for leaving an abusive situation
- Provide practical and emotional support throughout the process
- May accompany women to appointments, including legal, medical and other support services
- Maintain ongoing support and communication in their language of choice
Community support
With funding from Glasgow City Council Community Fund, the organisation is focussed on enhancing accessibility to support across Glasgow.
Community staff engage with local residents and meet women in secure locations in their neighbourhoods.
If reaching our office is challenging or poses safety concerns, arrangements can be made to meet in community locations where women feel at ease.
Collaborating with various trusted community services and facilities has enabled the provision of confidential support.
By working closely with local services, we strive to ensure that women can obtain assistance in ways that are safe, respectful and accessible to them.
