Refuge accommodation
Hemat Gryffe Women’s Aid provides safe, confidential accommodation for women, children and young people who are experiencing domestic abuse.
We also support women as they move on from refuge and help them settle into their own homes, offering practical and emotional support during this transition.
The refuge consists of a number of self-contained flats that can accommodate single women and women with children under the age of 16. The refuge is a safe and supportive environment where women and their families can begin to rebuild their lives with the assistance of specialised support staff.
If refuge space is not available, experienced outreach staff will support women to find alternative accommodation with other Women’s Aid organisations. We can also assist accessing refuge spaces in other parts of the UK, we can also signpost and assist with arranging other forms of safe accommodation through local councils, social work services and housing associations where appropriate.
Ongoing support and assistance is available from experienced bilingual staff for women not staying in refuge through outreach and community-based services. This includes emotional and practical support to help women navigate their options and access the help they need.
